Offline Maps

To display offline maps you will need a ZIP file with map tiles. The ZIP file must contain a folder called Mapnik which must contain the map tiles in a folder structure using the zoom / x / y pattern. If you do not know how to obtain such a file contact SAFE TREES.

  1. Place the ZIP file into a osmdroid folder in the main storage (also known as /sdcard/osmdroid, /mnt/sdcard/osmdroid). If the folder does not exist create it.
  2. In the CheckTrees app in the map open the Layers screen using an icon the top toolbar.
  3. In the Offline Maps tab check the Show offline maps checkbox.
  4. Return to the map and you should be able to see the map tiles in the desired location.
